Adding a Rounded Rectangle

To add a rectangle with rounded corners to the plan
view:
1. Click Plan to
switch to the plan view.
2. Click Add Rounded
Rectangle.
3. Click to place the
first corner.
4. Click to place the
opposite corner. Hold Shift to constrain the shape to a square. Press
Backspace to remove the last point. Press Esc to cancel.
5. Move the mouse
toward or away from the last point to adjust the radius. Click when the desired
radius is reached. Press Backspace to remove the last point. Press
Esc to cancel. Note: You will probably want to turn off grid-snap
for this step to make it easier to achieve the desired radius.
Tips:
• The
above steps are only used when adding the rounded rectangle. Once it has been
added, you can edit it like any other shape. This includes moving points, adding
& deleting points, and so forth. See Editing
Points for more information.
• The
resulting shape will be filled by default. If you want a hollow rounded
rectangle, set the Transparency to 100.
• You
can also round the corners of any shape using the Round Corners tool. Likewise, you can bevel the
corners of any shape using the Bevel Corners
tool.
• This
and other plan detail can only be added and edited in the plan view. See Adding Plan Detail for more information about
plan detail objects.
• Make
sure grid-snap is enabled, or it will be difficult to draw the rectangle using
exact dimensions. See Snap Settings for
more information.
