Adding a Symbol

Realtime Landscaping Architect includes an extensive
selection of symbols for designing landscape plans. Symbol types include
irrigation, north indicators, title blocks, plant symbols, and more. Like other
plan detail, symbols only appear in the plan view.
To add a symbol to the plan view:
1. Click Plan to
switch to the plan view.
2. Click Add
Symbol.
3. Select the desired
symbol by clicking the picture in the property window.
4. Click to add the
symbol. Hold Ctrl while you click if you want to add more than one.
5. Set the Width
and Height properties as desired.
The following shows just some of the many types of symbols
that are included:

Adding Plant Symbols to the Plan View
While you can add plant symbols using the Symbol object, we
recommend that you use the Plant object instead.
Unlike the Symbol object, the Plant object renders in the perspective and
walkthrough views. It also has additional properties such as common and
botanical names, age, container size, and plant key that are not available with
the Symbol object.
Tip: You can use the actual pictures of plants in
the plan view. See Using Plant
Pictures in the Plan View for details.
Creating a Custom Symbol
A symbol is basically a group of one or more plan detail
objects. You can create your own custom symbols for use in your current and
future landscape designs. See Symbol Creation
Wizard for details.
Importing Symbols using the Picture Import Wizard
You can import a picture as a symbol using the Picture Import Wizard. For example, you could
use the wizard to import your company logo for use in a title block.
Tip: Once you import your company logo as a symbol,
you can also use it as a watermark for screen shots, movies, and realtime
walkthroughs. See Company Logo Settings
for details.
Breaking Symbols
If the symbol consists of individual objects that you can
edit, then the Break Symbol button will appear in the property window.
Click this button to break the symbol into individual objects that you can edit
separately.
