Adding a Window
The Window object can be used to add windows, awnings, and
shutters to your house.

To add a Window, Awning, or Shutter:
1. Select
Perspective view.
2. Adjust the view
until the wall where you want to add the window is visible.
3. Click Add
Window.
4. Click the picture of
the window and select the type of window, awning, or shutter you want to
use.
5. Click the window
symbol and select the type of symbol you want to use.
6. Position cursor over
the wall where you want to add the window.
7. Click to add the
window.

To move an existing Window:
1. Click the window to
select it.
2. Drag to the desired
position. You can move the window to a different wall of the same house (but not
to a different house).
To adjust the elevation of an existing window:
1. Click the window to
select it.
2. Hold down
Ctrl while dragging the window up and down.

2. Set the
Elevation property to the desired height.
Tips:
• Use
the Copy and Paste commands to duplicate an
existing window.
• You
can also add the window in the plan view if the house is displayed as a floor
plan.
•
Normally when you click to add the window, the window will be added and
automatically selected for editing. If you want to immediately add another
window, hold Ctrl while clicking.
• If
grid snap is enabled, it might be difficult to place the window exactly where
you want it. Press Ctrl+G to disable grid snap. See Snap Settings for more information.
•
Windows can only be added to existing houses, not other objects.
• On
windows that have trim, the trim color will automatically match the color of the
house trim.
