Snap Settings
Position and angle snapping are invaluable tools for
aligning objects. For example, grid snap makes it easy to add houses, fences,
and decks with perfectly straight lines and square corners.
To edit snap settings:
1.
Click Settings > Snap Settings.
2.
Change the settings as desired and click OK.

Enable snaps Check this
option to enable all position snapping.
Grid Check this option
to enable grid snapping. When enabled, objects and points will snap to the grid
line intersections.
Point Check this option
to enable point snapping. When adding or editing shapes, this will cause the
cursor to snap to the points of nearby shapes.
Edge Check this option
to enable edge snapping. When adding or editing shapes, this will cause the
cursor to snap to the edges of nearby shapes.
Midpoint Check this
option to enable midpoint snapping. When adding or editing shapes, this will
cause the cursor to snap to the middle of the edges of nearby shapes.
Perpendicular Check
this option to enable perpendicular snapping. When adding a new shape, if the
first point is placed on the edge of an existing shape, then the cursor will
snap to the line perpendicular to that edge.
Show tooltips Check
this option to enable tooltips which show what the cursor has snapped to.
Angle snap
enabled Check this option to enable angle snapping. When enabled, objects
will snap to angles that are even multiples of the specified snap angle.
Snap angle Enter the
desired snap angle, in degrees.
Show grid Check this
option to show the grid.
Grid size Enter the
desired grid size in meters or feet.
Major line every Enter
the frequency at which a darker grid line will be rendered. For example, if the
grid size is set to 1' and the Major line every setting is set to 10,
then a darker grid line will be rendered every 10'.
Grid color Click to
change the color of the grid.

can toggle position snaps on/off by pressing Ctrl-G or by clicking

can toggle the grid on/off by press Ctrl-I or clicking 
• You
can toggle angle snap on/off by pressing
Ctrl-A.
