Area Grader Properties

The properties used to modify an Area Grader object are located to the right of the screen when your area grader is selected. These properties can either be adjusted right before adding the area grader to your landscape or after it has been added. Below is a description of each available property in the order that they appear in the software.

Options

Description

Level

The Level property determines whether the top of the area grader will be flat or follow the slope of the underlying terrain. To toggle the nature of the area grader, click the Level checkbox.

Amount

The Amount property determines the area grader’s influence. If the amount is set to 0, then the area grader has no effect, while an amount setting of 100 causes the area grader to take full effect. To change the influence of the area grader, move the Amount slider or enter a value in the text box.

Height

The Height property determines how tall the area grader is. To raise or lower the area grader, move the Height slider or enter a value in the text field.

Height taper

The Height taper property determines the smoothness of the transition between the top of the area grader and the base. Use a lower value for a more rounded edge, or a higher value for a steeper edge. Use 100 for a vertical edge.

Line style

The Line Style property determines the appearance of the area grader’s outline. To change the line style, click the Line Style button and select the style you wish to use from the dialog that appears.

Edit points

Click the Edit points button to enable or disable point editing mode, which will allow you to modify the area grader’s shape. See Editing Points for details.

Shape options

Click the Shape options button to save the shape of the area grader, or to load an existing shape. For more details, see Saving and Loading Shapes.
