Light Properties

Property

Description

Model

The Model property determines the type of landscape light. To change the light model, click the picture that shows the current light.

Material options

The appearance of the landscape light can be modified by clicking the small button that appears to the right of the light image.

Width

The Width property determines the size of the landscape light from left to right. To adjust the light’s width, move the Width slider or type a value in the text field.

Depth

The Depth property determines the length of the landscape light from front to back. To adjust the light’s length, move the Depth slider or type a value in the text field.

Height

The Height property determines how tall the landscape light is. To adjust the light’s height, move the Height slider or type a value in the text field.

Rotate about X

The Rotate about X property determines the angle of the light from top to bottom. To rotate the light, move the Rotate about X slider or type a value in the text field.

Rotate about Y

The Rotate about Y property determines the rotation angle of the light about its base. To rotate the light, move the Rotate about Y slider or type a value in the text field.

Rotate about Z

The Rotate about Z property determines the angle of the light from left to right. To rotate the light, move the Rotate about Z slider or type a value in the text field.

Scale evenly

The Scale evenly property determines if the landscape light is stretched or not when you adjust the width, depth, or height. If you wish to simply enlarge the light, then keep the Scale evenly option checked. If you wish to stretch the light in any direction, then uncheck the Scale evenly option.

Cast shadow

The Cast shadow property determines whether or not the light will project a simulated shadow on your landscape. To toggle the appearance of the shadow, click the Cast shadow checkbox.

Show fixture

The Show fixture property determines if only the illuminating effect is shown or if the entire light is displayed. To toggle the appearance of the light, click the Show fixture checkbox.

Enable light

The Enable light property is used to turn the light on or off. To toggle the light’s status, click the Enable light checkbox.

When enabled, the light illuminates when viewing at night.

Color

The Color property determines the color of illumination. For example, a blue color would cause the object to cast blue light. To change the light’s color, click the small color swatch that displays light’s current color.

Wattage

The Wattage property is used to adjust the brightness of the light. To change the brightness, move the Wattage slider or type a value in the text field.

Light size

The Light size property is used to determine how much influence the light has on its surroundings. To adjust the reach of the light’s effect, move the Light size slider or type a value in the text field.

Spotlight width

The Spotlight width property is used to determine the angle of illumination on spotlights. To adjust the lighting angle, move the Spotlight width slider or type a value in the text field.

This option is only enabled if the light is a spotlight.
